Aida Baghernejad is a multi-award-winning freelance journalist. She writes and speaks in German and English for a range of regional, national, and international publications, covering music, film, literature, and food. Sometimes she writes about several of these at once, but more often than not, her work explores the political dimensions of sound, the stage, the written word, and the plate.
She also hosts and co-hosts various podcasts and live event formats. In 2024, as a Thomas Mann Fellow at the Thomas Mann House in Los Angeles, she explored how political issues are negotiated through popular culture.
Online, she can be found at Mach dich unbeliebt, a debate platform she co-founded with Ciani-Sophia Höder, as well as through her culture and discourse newsletter Recommended Reading.
